Greg Egan's Schild's Ladder is a 2002 science-fiction novel featuring many interesting concepts from relativity and quantum field theory. A lot is explained on his website gregegan.net on which this talk is based on. It doesn't include spoilers for the novel besides a rough introduction in the central topics from the first chapters, but will go over all the concepts explored in it.

There will also be a talk about the concepts from Greg Egan's Incandescence: https://events.ccc.de/congress/2024/hub/de/event/greg-egans-incandescence-tidal-forces-schwarzschil
