Day 3
Come learn about Meshtastic, the long-range, low-power, encrypted off-grid messaging protocol. In this session, you'll set up Meshtastic Nuggets, explore setup options, and delve into advanced features that make Meshtastic more useful. Topics include setting encryption, choosing a device role, and connecting over serial, web, and Bluetooth. Optional modules like broadcasting sensor telemetry data and adding GPS will also be discussed.

Make your own Meshtastic Nibble soldering workshop - $75

Build your own cat-themed Meshtastic node and learn how to use it! This beginner-focused workshop will allow anyone to solder together an adorable Meshtastic node for long-range, off grid encrypted networking! Perfect for chatting with friends in remote areas, crowded places with congested networks, and creating remote sensor nodes.

Immediately folllowing the "Meshtastic for Hackers" class, we'll go through the process of building a basic node, setting it up, assigning a role, and applying custom settings. While supplies last, we'll be including an environmental sensor to turn your node into a remote weather station! Please bring a laptop or smartphone to get the most out of the class, including a USB type C cable. If you're not good at soldering, we and fellow students will help you along!
