Defending the revolution in Rojava - on current developments in Syria

For more than 12 years now, the revolution in Rojava has stood for a perspective of hope for the construction of a liberated society. With its foundations of women's liberation, radical democracy and ecology, it is a point of reference for many freedom-seeking people and movements around the world.

Since the beginning of the revolution, it has been under constant attack from Turkey and various jihadist groups such as the so-called IS (Islamic State) and the SNA (Syrian National Army).

The Middle East has been the scene of military conflicts for years. Since the end of November 2024, the offensive by jihadist groups in Syria and the fall of Syrian ruler Assad have led to a completely new situation in the region.

Turkey is taking advantage of the chaos and attacking the revolution. The consequences are displacement and a worsening of the humanitarian situation.

We would like to discuss the current developments, shed light on the active players and highlight the values of this revolution as a perspective of peace and freedom. The situation on the ground is more serious than ever and it is now important to inform ourselves and defend the revolution here in Europe.
