Day 2
Wondrous mathematics: The world through the eyes of a prime number
Meet the 𝑝-adic numbers, bizarre mathematical phantoms where a million is considered tiny but the number two is large.

📍 The location of this session might change, please check here again before the session starts. 📍

In this talk, we explore the 𝑝-adic numbers, a fractal which you can compute with. After learning the basics, we will enjoy a geometric application of these numbers: We will prove that, no matter how hard you try, it is impossible to dissect a square into an odd number of triangles of equal area.
